Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of InYourStory (inyourstory.in), a product of Abideals, India. By placing an order you agree to them. Questions: contact@inyourstory.in.

1. The service

InYourStory creates made-to-order, AI-generated personalized products — illustrated storybooks (digital and printed), short animated films and posters — from the photo and details you provide. Every product is generated individually for your order; nothing is pre-made stock.

2. Eligibility and your responsibilities

• You must be 18 or older to place an order.
• You confirm you are the parent/legal guardian of any child in the photos you upload, or have the parent's or guardian's explicit permission.
• Upload only photos you have the right to use. No photos of third parties without their consent, and no unlawful, hateful or sexual content of any kind.
• We may refuse or cancel (with full refund) any order whose inputs violate these rules.

3. Pricing and payment

All prices are in Indian Rupees (₹) and shown before checkout. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we never see or store your card/UPI details. An order is confirmed once payment succeeds.

4. Delivery

• Digital products (digital books, films, posters) are delivered to your WhatsApp number and/or account, typically within 24 hours of order confirmation.
• Printed products (softcover/hardcover books, framed posters) are printed after you approve the preview and shipped across India, typically within 7–14 business days.
• Delivery timelines are estimates; we'll keep you informed if an order needs longer.

5. Refunds and cancellations

Every product is personalized and made to order, so the policy is built around the point of no return — when generation or printing starts:

• Before generation starts: cancel for a full refund.
• Preview stage: where a free or paid preview is offered, you approve the preview before we produce the final product. If you don't approve, you can request changes or cancel per the product's listed terms.
• After final delivery (digital): no refund for change of mind. If the delivered product is materially defective (wrong name, broken pages, corrupted file), we will regenerate it or refund you.
• Printed products: if your print arrives damaged or misprinted, email photos of the defect within 7 days of delivery and we will reprint or refund. No returns for change of mind, as each print is personalized.
• Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–7 business days.

6. Content, likeness and ownership

• You grant us a limited licence to use the photos, names and voice samples you upload solely to produce your order (see our Privacy Policy).
• The delivered product is yours for personal, non-commercial use — share it with family, print it, post it. Commercial use requires our written permission.
• We will not use your child's likeness in our marketing without your separate, explicit consent.
• The underlying generation pipeline, templates and story worlds remain our property.

7. AI-generated content

Our products are AI-generated. We work hard on likeness and quality, but generative AI has inherent variability: illustrations are artistic interpretations of your child, not photographs, and small imperfections can occur. Such artistic variation is not a defect; material errors (wrong name, wrong child, broken output) are — and section 5 applies.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; the date above reflects the current version. Orders are governed by the terms in force when the order was placed.
